Cookout + Movie Night 7.31.19

Everyone’s invited to a cookout and movie night at the church, Wednesday, July 31. Come for one or come for both!

We’ll start with a classic cookout at 5:30 PM, and then we’ll move inside to watch the movie A Case for Christ on the big screen. The evening is free, but donations would be appreciated.

Camp Echoing Hills

Imagine never being able to meet your fullest potential because society isn’t ready to accept you with what it views as your limitations.

Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?

The sad truth is that in reality, this is how most people with special needs are viewed. God sees a lot more for these individuals however, and He loves the people that society doesn’t value because of their handicaps.

At Camp Echoing Hills in Ohio, people with special needs are normal, capable, and valuable. They get to do things that they can never do anywhere else. And more importantly, they get to see the love of God in action through the love, care, and service that volunteers bring.

But you know what’s really interesting? Through the daily interactions, volunteers end up learning more about God than they expected, and we come back with a deeper love for God and others.

Our church will be sending a group of people to serve June 29–July 5, 2019, and we would appreciate your prayers and support.

For those interested in volunteering, the only requirements are an active Tetanus vaccine, a TB test completed within the past year, and a servant’s heart! Children under age 14 must be accompanied by a parent. If that describes you, please contact the church office to let us know!

About Camp Echoing Hills*

For over 50 years, Echoing Hills has supported thousands of families, friends and neighbors through our outreach to people with disabilities. We believe in creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities and assisting them in reaching their fullest potential. Our journey began with Cordell Brown’s dream of serving people like himself, with only $300 and a handful of friends who believed, Echoing Hills became a reality. From that humble beginning and two rustic cabins in rural Ohio, we now serve individuals with disabilities all over the state of Ohio and internationally with camping, travel, residential and healthcare and adult services. Our services all support our beliefs that all individuals can live purposeful lives with dignity and respect.

Father’s Day » 6.16.19

We get it — fathers are very important people.

We were born with a need for a father’s presence in our lives, and we never outgrow our need for their attention and guiding care. Whether it’s a firm handshake or a tender touch, we need fathers (and “fatherly figures”) in our lives.

So when Father’s Day rolls around on June 16, we want you to be here with us at Mount Airy Bible Church, because we want to show our fathers how much we appreciate them.

Let’s start the day off right with a Pancake Breakfast, at 8:30 AM, and then stick around for a special Outdoor Worship Service at 10:00 AM, all here at Mount Airy Bible Church. Bring a lawn chair or blanket (or maybe even a small popup tent?) and your Bible!

If you want to join us for the breakfast, please register online. It’s free but ticketed event because we do need an accurate headcount. Tickets are available up through Friday, June 14, 2019.

Dad loves pancakes. Count us in!

And we’ve got a few other treats in store for dads and their families. We can’t give away any of the other tasty details, but we wanted to whet your appetite for what else might be in store!

Business Directory » Get Listed Today!

As a business owner, you have a lot on your mind. There’s a constant tension between advertising, gaining new clients, and keeping costs down.

Meanwhile, we at Mount Airy Bible Church have an ever-evolving church family. Some have attended for years, while others are brand new to the Mount Airy area. And Murphy’s law tells us that someone is always going to be in need of a plumber, builder, or lawyer.

So here’s our sales pitch:

We want to highlight your business in our next business directory. We’re collecting business names until May 31, and we’ll have a completed version by mid-June. Then we’ll send it out to our church family and ask them to consider using your business.

This could be a win-win situation. You get connected with more potential customers, and they see your business as one they can trust.

Are you in?

If so, all we need you to do then is to fill out the form below. If you want, you could also upload a graphic like a logo or offer a special for our MABC family, but it’s not required.

We just want it to be easy. Easy for you, and easy for our people.

Parenting Conference

We regret to inform you that the simulcast that was to be hosted at Mount Airy Bible Church has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Every home needs to be built upon a foundation. Is your family’s foundation built on the solid ground of Jesus Christ? We want to discover the beliefs, values, words, and actions that are necessary to building a Godly home that can last for generations.

That’s why we are so excited to stream Foundations of a Godly Home, a video conference by pastor and best-selling author Paul David Tripp. If you are a mom or dad – or even a grandparent – please make this a priority and invest in building a Godly foundation for your home.

The Foundations of a Godly Home simulcast is coming to Mount Airy Bible Church

  • Friday, May 10, 6:30-10:00 PM, and Saturday, May 11, 8:30 AM-12:00 PM
  • Cost: $10 per person, cash or check, payable at the door

In these sessions, Paul will unpack four foundations for a Godly home:

1. Mercy: If you allow yourself to forget the daily mercies you desperately need and generously receive from your Father’s hands, it will become easier for you not to parent your children with mercy.

2. Lost: You’re not just dealing with your child’s wrong behaviors but their condition. If you don’t understand that deeper thing, you will settle for surface victories and surface solutions that don’t lead to lasting change.

3. Foolishness: All of your children’s foolishness comes from their heart, so every moment of discipline and correction must be accompanied with heart-focused instruction.

4. Process: You must be committed to the long-term goal of parenting, because change is a process and not an event. The world’s best teacher — Jesus Christ — had a process mentality.

Paul is a pastor, international speaker, and best-selling author. With more than 20 books on Christian living, including the award-winning Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family, Paul’s driving passion is to connect the transforming power of Jesus Christ to everyday life. Paul and his wife Luella live in Philadelphia; they have four grown children and two granddaughters.
