Parents may sign up to help with the different activities at Back To School Night. Parents may also call the fellowship coordinator or committee members to learn of specific needs. The activities are included in the school calendar. The Fellowship Committee welcomes your involvement! Elementary Class Representatives The Elementary Class Representatives are to coordinate the Harvest Party, Happy Birthday Jesus Party and the Valentine’s Party. They are to work as a team with another representative from their class. They are responsible for encouraging parental involvement within their class, assisting new parents in becoming involved and extending hospitality to all parents regarding class parties. They are to organize each party and make reminder calls to parent volunteers. At least one of the representatives from the class should attend each party. They also assist with the teacher’s birthday party, the assembly of gingerbread houses, and the administrative side of the Race for Education Fundraiser for their class. Parents may sign up to help out with any of the parties at Back to School Night. All parents are certainly welcome to attend the parties and lend a helping hand. Parents are encouraged to contact their class representatives to express their willingness to be involved. Parent Activities Committee (Secondary Class Representatives) The Parent Activities Committee will work as a team under the leadership of the Parent Association to implement various activities for the MACA Middle School and High School throughout the year. They will make themselves available for planning meetings, and whenever necessary, they will set up and serve. They are also responsible for encouraging parental involvement as the need arises. Many of the secondary events are on the school calendar. You can sign up to help in specific areas of need at Back to School Night. You may also contact the coordinators or the Secondary School Office to express your desire to be involved. Your participation and service are greatly appreciated. Ministries

Please bring quiet activities to occupy them during prayer time. Clothes Closet The Parent Association provides a Clothes Closet to all its MACA families. Gently used uniforms that have been outgrown may be donated. If necessary, they are mended and ironed by the coordinator of this ministry. The uniforms are then sold to other MACA parents at a greatly reduced price. All proceeds go directly to the Student Scholarship Fund. MACA families are welcome to donate and purchase gently used, outgrown uniforms to our Clothes Closet. Please contact the coordinator or the school office for more detailed information. Holiday Food Drives The Parent Association annually participates in a food drive during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. They work closely with the Mount Airy Net, a local community organization, to provide food for those who are in need. Parents are notified through the Communications Envelope as to the specific food items each class may bring by a specified date. Once MACA parents receive the information as to specific food needs, they may send the items in with their children to be collected in the classroom. If there is an interest in helping to deliver the food to Mount Airy Net, please contact the Parent Association. Karis House The Parent Association also annually partners with Mount Airy Bible Church to minister to those who live at the Karis House. The Karis House is the women and children’s side of the Baltimore Rescue Mission. This is a year-round ministry of MABC. Mount Airy Christian Academy is honored to partner with them during the Christmas season. Many practical and spiritual needs are supplied through the loving generosity of our MACA families. Information will be sent to MACA parents via the Communications Envelope as to which items are requested by the Rescue Mission. They may be sent in with your child to be stored in their classroom. The Mission requests that all gifts be sent in unwrapped. If a parent is interested in helping collect and deliver the gifts, please contact the coordinator of this ministry. Fundraisers
